Student Representative Council
SRC
The Student Representative Council (SRC) consists of the School Captains, House Captains and five Year 5 representatives. Already, they have worked on a number of projects to assist the curriculum programs at school, to raise needed funds for Leukaemia and Diabetes Research and a current project involving a school in Bali. The school is called Mekarsari School SD1. This school is in desperate need of a number of classroom materials, sports equipment and teacher uniforms. The SRC have donated some raised funds from last year’s Term 4 Disco to the school so that they can purchase 6 whiteboards for their classrooms. These projects, like all of the activities the SRC have been involved in; have been extremely rewarding and worthwhile.
Becoming part of the SRC is a great opportunity for any student who wants the chance to lead and assist others who need our help.
The projects the SRC have and will complete this year include:
- Selling icy poles and popcorn to raise money for the Mathletics program.
- Organizing the CRAZY HAIR DAY for the Leukemia Foundation.
- Organizing a collection for the BUSFIRE APPEAL.
- Designing a CLEAN UP Plan for the School.
- When the Year 6 SRC students were on camp, the Year 5 SRC stepped in and took on their monitor jobs, including running an Assembly.
- Selling ANZAC badges.
- Selling Diabetes Merchandise for Juvenile Diabetes Research.
- Raising funds for Mekarsari School SD1 in Bali.
- Assisting in the annual Overport Footy Day.
- Selling bandanas for CANTEEN’s Bandana Day.
- Organizing the Term 4 Disco.
