Strong oral language is a precursor to learning to read. Let’s Chat is a program designed to help parents develop their child’s early literacy skills. This program is run by Schools, Kindergartens & Day Care Centres in collaboration with DET in the Northern Peninsula area of Melbourne. Overport is part of this network. Early literacy is the skills your child needs to learn before they start to read and write. You can help your child develop these skills at home! The Let's Chat program can help you develop your child's conversation, vocabulary, comprehension, print knowledge and sound awareness.
