​Japanese program at Overport Primary School

From Prep to Year six students learn Japanese in each semester.

Through Japanese lessons, students will learn Japanese language and culture. Students will also have opportunities to learn other subject
concepts and skills through Japanese lessons. For example, looking up maps and viewing videos to learn about Japanese geography, creating and testing traditional Japanese toys as physical science learning,
visiting and working in our Japanese gardens and vegetable garden to learn about plant biology, the whole school sustainability actions through rubbish issues and creating shops for junior students as economic and business learning.

This year, we are planning to start developing a new sister school relationship with a Japanese primary school in Yokohama.
